At the beginning of April, the Nintendo Switch Online catalog updated three NES and SNES games, now the Kyoto house has surprisingly announced the arrival of a fourth game in April, taken from the N64 library.
Let’s talk about Mario Golf, which then joins the Nintendo Switch Online games of April 2022 along with Mappy Land and Dig Dug II for NES and Earthworm Jim for SNES. Mario Golf (known as Mario Golf 64 in Japan) was released in 1999 on the Nintendo 64 with some success, the game features various game modes including Tournament, Speed Golf, Ring Shot and Mini-Golf and a roster that includes 14 Nintendo characters, among the most popular are Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi and Wario.

Mario Golf does not represent the first foray of Mario and his companions on the green, since NES Open Tournament Golf was already released on NES in 1991, the precursor of a series that has several episodes released on N64, GameCube, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 3DS, the most recent of which is Mario Golf Super Rush released in 2021 on Nintendo Switch.
According to a leak, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will soon also be able to download Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards and Pokemon Snap for N64, but at the moment these two games have not yet been confirmed.
