Android Auto: what happened recently

Android Auto is once again in focus because the car app probably brought several errors with it recently. That and other news. For example, some users have reported that they are suddenly missing the WiFi icon, even when they are using Android Auto and are connected to a WiFi network at the same time.

Affected users also report that their phone loses a hotspot connection when using wireless Android Auto. Sounds like errors that are quite new and unfortunately also very annoying.

Android Auto: 3 Wi-Fi-related bugs

Last but not least, users have reported that the latest major update to Android Auto has completely eliminated wireless use. Therefore, one could reasonably suspect that Google is building something in the field of wireless connectivity to come with Android Auto.

The new beta could already have bug fixes with it

Google released the current Android Auto 7.8 in June but already added two newer beta versions for 7.9 in July. In fact, we do not recommend using these trial versions. But if you are affected by the errors just described, maybe that’s not a bad idea after all?

You can find downloads for this on the trustworthy Apkmirror. The latest Android Auto 7.9 beta landed there on Friday.

The chance of displaying the speed limit may have increased

The political institutions are currently introducing new specifications for future cars. This includes the integration of intelligent assistants to regulate the speed. What is not possible without the data, which speeds are allowed. Google has this data but has not yet used it in Android Auto and Android Automotive OS.

The obligation to use intelligent speed assistants (ISA) in future new cars could be a necessary step that Google is also making improvements to its platforms. But it’s a purely speculative view, we don’t want to give you too much hope.
