Windows 11’s new bug causes taskbar icons to disappear bizarrely

Recently, a user submitted a new bug in the Microsoft Feedback Center, saying that their Windows 11 system tray icon “disappeared” for unknown reasons and could not find a fix. At present, Microsoft has responded to the bug, and while clarifying the cause of the bug, it has given a temporary fix.

It is reported that the culprit of the bug is Windows 11’s IRIS service, which is suspected to be related to features such as Windows Focus, but Microsoft has never explicitly acknowledged it. To fix this bug, you need to open the Command Manager (CMD) in administrator mode and enter the command ” reg delete HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\IrisService /f && shutdown -r -t 0“.

This command removes the registry value for the IRIS service, thus solving the problem. Generally speaking, after entering this command, the system will automatically restart, and the problem will be solved after booting.

It is worth mentioning that as early as 2020, there was a bug in Windows 10 that did not display icons in the taskbar, but the cause of the problem at that time was the lack of device memory.
