The key specifications of MIX FOLD 2, the successor of MIX FOLD, have been leaked. MIX FOLD was Xiaomi’s first foldable device. Xiaomi, which later joined the foldable device trend, achieved success by putting its first foldable device into mass production. Users were having trouble getting a late update on MIUI FOLD.
While all devices have received MIUI 13, there is a situation where MIX FOLD still does not receive MIUI 13. Despite all these problems, Xiaomi started to develop the MIX FOLD 2. A month ago, we announced that MIX FOLD 2 will be released in 2022. A few days ago, the possible design of Xiaomi FOLD 2 was leaked. Now we have leaked key specifications of MIX FOLD 2.
MIX FOLD 2’s codename will be zizhan. The model number will be L18. The long version of the model number will be 22061218C.
MIX FOLD 2 CPU Specifications
MIX FOLD 2 will have an SM8450 based CPU. Until Q2, the SM8475 CPU, namely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, will be introduced. Xiaomi may use Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on this device. However, since the SM8475 will be based on the SM8450, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 can be used on this device.
MIX FOLD 2 Camera Specifications
MIX FOLD 2 will have a triple camera setup like the old MIX FOLD device. The main camera, Ultra-Wide camera and Telephoto camera. The main camera will have OIS support. Also triple flash will support this camera setup at night. Sensor and megapixel information is currently unknown.
MIX FOLD 2 Display Specifications
MIX FOLD 2 will have 2 screens. One screen is unfolded and the other screen will be screen is for folded. The large display (unfolded)’s dimensions are 1350×1521 millimeters which are 8.01 inches. Currently, pen support does not exist. It has a 2160×1916 pixels resolution.
The second display (folded) dimensions are 657×1532 millimeters which are 6.56 inches. It has 1080×2520 pixels resolution. In addition, since this screen belongs to a device in the prototype stage, it has a 60 Hz refresh rate on dual displays. As it gets closer to the final, the refresh rate will increase.
MIX FOLD 2 has been certified to June 2022. Therefore, it can be introduced in the Q2 of 2022. But there is a possibility that it will never come out like the MIX FLIP device. Since we do not think that Xiaomi will not release a foldable device this year, we think that this device will be introduced in the Q2 of 2022.
