The new OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G doesn’t just have a weird name

Somehow we don’t think that’s a good strategy when customers can’t remember the name of their smartphone. This is definitely possible with the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G.

But at least you can remember from the design that OnePlus is now more Oppo and less OnePlus than ever before. The spec sheet may reveal whether the new Android phone, which will go on sale in March for 349 euros, is still interesting.

The following datasheet offers the new OnePlus phone:

  • 6.43 inch 90Hz OLED display, FHD+
  • MediaTek Dimsenity 900 processor
  • 4,500 mAh battery, 65-watt fast charging
  • 128 gigabytes of data storage
  • 8 gigabytes of RAM memory
  • 64-megapixel main camera
  • 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle
  • 2-megapixel macro
  • 16-megapixel front camera
  • LTE and 5G, dual SIM, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, etc.
  • USB-C, jack connection, microSD slot
  • 160.6 x 73.2 x 7.8mm, 173g
  • Android 11 with Google apps out of the box

There is a reasonable range of equipment, but the price is a bit ahead of it. Unfortunately, a camera without OIS and an old Android stand out negatively. And I also thought we were slowly getting over 2-megapixel macro cameras.
