Resident Evil 4 Remake is reality: Release date on PS5 and PSVR2

After a long series of rumors, the truth finally emerged at the opening of the PlayStation State of Play on June 2, 2022. Capcom is officially working on Resident Evil 4 Remake, which will mark the return of the great classic originally released in early 2005 on GameCube and a few months later also on PS2.

And to accompany the cinematic trailer that shows Leon S. Kennedy’s misadventure in the Spanish land under the control of the Los Illuminados, there are other big confirmations: the remake of the fourth episode will be a next-gen only project with a release set on PlayStation 5 (and with great probability also Xbox Series X / S ) for March 24, 2023.

And it’s not over yet: Resident Evil 4 Remake will also be compatible with PlayStation VR2, as specific content for Sony’s new headset is in the works, although at the moment it is not clear what the nature of the projects in the pipeline to support virtual reality is. . Capcom, therefore, wants to do things big with this further remake of its flagship series, which continues the trail already inaugurated in 2019 with Resident Evil 2 and continued a year later with Resident Evil 3.

Furthermore, the enormous curiosity remains to find out how the Japanese house will touch up the various components of the game, given that there have been rumors of a Resident Evil 4 Remake different from the original.

The speech also includes the narrative: in recent months Shinji Mikami was hoping for a better story for Resident Evil 4 Remake than the one he conceived at the time for the original version. All that remains is to wait until March 24 to find out how one of the most popular Survival Horror actions ever will be dusted off.
